The Committee provides information and recommends policies to the IEEE Board of Directors, to other IEEE Boards and organizational units, and cooperates with public organizations (of an historical nature) involved in historical activities. The Committee provides oversight to the IEEE History Center to serve as the worldwide center of excellence for preserving, researching, and promoting the legacy of electrical engineering, computing, and associated sciences and technologies.
