  Six years after Apple Inc. revolutionized the music industry with the release of the first iPod, Amazon.com Inc. has launched the Kindle, a digital reading device which some believe could do the same for ... the world of books. While some analysts were quick to extol the device's potential to recreate the electronic book business, others say the Kindle is merely the latest in a line of similar devices which have met a cool reception from the book-buying public and that the onus will be on Amazon to prove there is a growing market for e-books. The $399 (U.S.) paperback-sized portable device has a 200-book capacity and allows users to wirelessly download and read books, newspapers, magazines and blogs. It is the first Amazon-branded product to be produced by the world's largest Internet retailer.
