Australia is now the corporation's largest footprint outside the US with about 4000 employees scattered around 26 different sites and annual revenues climbing towards the billion-dollar mark.
Boeing's military business in Australia is booming - the company now supplies a large part of the RAAF's new airborne capability, ranging from strategic airlift and airborne early-warning aircraft to combat fighters and helicopters.
"We are studying having a large R&D presence in the country. There are a lot of unique capabilities in Australia for the Boeing company," Craig Saddler, president of Boeing Australia, told The Australian yesterday.
