from lower frequency dedicated or locally open bands to the worldwide 2.4 GHz ISM band. In comparison to lower frequency bands, the 2.4 GHz band is wide (83.5 MHz) and not divided into channels, allowing for much higher data rates (wider frequency channels) and a variety of RF solutions to operate within the same frequency band. This article guides you through the jump from a low frequency narrow band channel design to a low-cost 2.4 GHz solution... The MG3700A Vector Signal Generator supports digital modulation of signals for all major wireless communication systems such as cellular phones and wireless LANs. With its 160 MHz high-speed arbitrary waveform baseband generator, wide vector modulation bandwidth, and large capacity ARB memory, MG3700A has the performance to provide signal generation for future wireless communication systems

Hazen, EWT Editor The recent news that Sprint Nextel and Clearwire cancelled their plans to collaborate for the deployment of a U.S. nationwide WiMAX network left many analysts digging for reasons some stating that the risks are high and business models are not yet proven. But alas, behind the announcement we see that Clearwire is pressing forward and Sprint Nextel may only be delaying their efforts.... I think the actuality is that it's not teaching an old dog a new trick that is so hard - what is hard is convincing the dog that the new trick is worth repeating on command. That is an apt analogy for those of us that were raised on the system of English units, and have been dragged kicking and screaming into the world of metric units. People in the U.S. who came through the school system in the last 15 to 20 years have been indoctrinated in SI units ( ) and do not have the problem (although far too many are not proficient with either system of units). Just as with gaining fluency in a foreign language, the trick is to not be always in the habit of mentally translating between u
